NEW!! Husqvarna T542iXP chainsaw FIRST IMPRESSIONS
This is an in-depth look at the latest professional grade battery powered top handled chainsaw from Husqvarna, the T542i XP. We look at all the changes and evolutions made by Husqvarna on this saw. We do an in-depth dive into why Husqvarna have developed this new model which looks almost identical. Why Husqy have seen a benefit that the clutch gives over the direct drive of the T540i XP. We also put it to the test and do some side by side cut tests against the previous model T540i XP. Will there be an obvious difference when these saws are cutting larger pieces of wood.
In this video we are using the saw with a 14"bar.

My husband snd I are fighting full blown Lyme disease, along with mold poisoning from hurricanes Laura and Delta. Husband about 30 yrs while hunting in many different states and me 10 yrs. Luckily our drs are functional drs. There are ticks in every state. I got but 2014 in SW Louisiana by the Texas start tick. Sadly I didn’t get to a dr in time for antibiotics to work, he was off shore and I got so sick could hardly get out of bed to eat and to attend to 11 horses , 4 labs and 5 cats. Laid in bed for 5 days until he got on shore, the bulls eye was huge by then. Emergency clinic gave me antibiotics had 3 rounds too late to work. So we are now living in N E Ok and travel to KC Kansas for treatment. Ok has 2 kinds of ticks one reg and a very tiny brown tick which slept with me and bit me 7 times around my waist and left red spots at each bite. I can tell you it SUCKS. Herxing is probably the worst thing as you’re ridding your body of these parasites. We go about every 2 weeks to KC to get our blood cleansed, using a light spectrum and methylene blue and then next day vit/mineral drip. We are going to Dallas and getting a specialized MRI scan. Our Dr Cory Priest is amazing and so knowledgeable. He finds the root problems and causes and works up from there to healing. We yse to travel to Franklin Tennessee to biometrix to get those treatments 11 hour drive. Dr Todd Farney was also amazing. We eat pretty much organic but are going Keto, Paleo and Mediterranean type of diet. Fighting these types of health issues is very expensive and exhausting especially at our age of 70. Spray your shoes, socks, pant legs at least to the knee with permethrin. Ck yourself and family members before bed or often during the day. 🙏🏼for all suffering with lyme and mold poisoning. 💜

Good one Dan. Fear is a killer. I personally love to climb and get my trees sorted out. Practise is key. There is some much about tree work that you really need to stick to a method that will help you be at peace with climbing. From there you can decide what works or not. You Tube is great for seeing what is out there but I truly think that getting taught is best. Take it slow and gradually develop yourself to climb safely and with confidence. Even if it's a small tree it doesn't matter. I freak out because I haven't yet got the control of my Petzl Zigzag when descending. Two days with it and I'm good. I also think it's important to keep at it because leaving it for long will bring back lack of confidence.

I imagine that the direction of the two plunge cuts makes for very precise felling for where the tree's trunk will fall.

Awesome!! I'm still a bit confused because I am....😀the best way as you say is to experiment with options to suss what is good for you and intended purposes. The trees I climb are rather tricky because of their nature of having tons of branches so I prefer a clean, safe and practical system. I just wish we had it regulated here in Kenya so that people are educated about tree feeling techniques. A lot have been injured seriously from lack of education and equipment. You may have the will but lack the knowledge! Again, good videos and I'm certainly learning a lot from you.

Great method for side control, but we were taught to cut the notch creating a down slope on the stump, and a flat bottom on the trunk. That way, as the tree falls, it is on the slope and cannot climb back up to do a "moon walk" on the flat top of the trunk, and kick back, as can happen with the slope cut from the trunk.

I used the T540i xp for 2 years now and i've always had issues with the X-PRECISION SP21G Semi chisel PIXEL .325" mini 1.1 mm chain on it which is the standard for this saw. No matter what I did after a few filings the chain just didn't cut well. In bigger wood (anything bigger than a small branch) halfway through the cut the chain would keep spinning but you wouldn't be able to progress further into the cut it would just bog down (and not just stopping because of putting to much pressure on the saw like you said which I know can happen also). It's as if the slightest difference in cutting length of the teeth on either side is making the chain vibrate to much or something. I put the same chain on my husqy T540 XP Mark 2 (gas powered chainsaw) and it cut's just fine, really good even. So if it's not the chain then what is the issue here? I'm hoping the T542i xp solves this problem.

excellent. i was wondering about this cut and failed to see how useful it can be in urban environments especially. good one. how about this 'steering' a tree by working on the hinge as it comes down? can someone explain that to me? is it that the tree is coming down square to the hinge as you'd expect and you see you've cut the hinge wrong or something and it's not going where you want to you 'change' the hinge as it is coming down? and you 'change' it by cutting a bit away at one side or other? And that makes the hinge 'wedge shaped' ? and the back of that wedge, the side nearest you, decides the direction of the hinge, the direction at right angles to which the tree will come down? Is that it? And you do all that in the two or three seconds as the thing is coming down?

To keep ticks off your skin, wear tight woven natural fabrics that cover all your skin (long sleeves and pants), and because ticks alway crawl upward, layer your clothes so that the highest garments are tucked into the next lower garment (shirt into pants, pants into socks, etc) in this way your clothes always shunt a climbing tick outward, away from your skin. If in the woods, wear a hoodie drawn tight to your face, because ticks can sense body heat and drop down on you from the trees above. When you get back to your home or a protected indoor environment, strip your outer clothes off on a porch or other room you don't live in, and put the contaminated clothes immediately into a washing machine with plenty of soap (soap helps the water drown insects and arachnids like ticks), then take a shower and comb your exposed hair with a nit comb to make sure you don't have ticks in your hair. Once you are clean and in clean clothes, you can relax in your tick free home, assuming you don't have other creatures going outside and bringing ticks back with them, like children or pets. If ticks get brought in they can hide in your carpet or furniture, and breed and feed on all living creatures inside, and they can be very hard to eradicate.

Problem with having pol belt and life line above rigging sling is that if it’s a skinny part of the trunk and you get flung around due to a mistake or whatever from guy on rope you can get flung off and over the top of the trunk as your really close to your cut,I always go one above sling and one below sling, about a 1/2 foot below sling as iv never had a sling slide down on a choke off specially if you take 2 wraps around before choking off,the slight amount it does travel down dosnt seem to interfere with second pole strap
